Yes tmufc123 a totally pointless thread, people talking about setting up a totally new club, do they have any idea what it takes to put on a game of football.
If you haven't? start by running a junior sunday morning team, this will give you a good start. Then progress to an u16 team and all the trials and tribulations in what that brings. Then get into running a Saturday Sunday morning team, this will give you a good clue as to what is needed and required with regards to the officialdom of football, ah the Surrey F.A, memories!! Plus all the league and FA meetings you will be required to go to.
On top of all this don’t forget to get your finance sorted for balls, officials, the county FA, and the league in which you hope to play in, oops forgot, first aid kit. Kit!!!! Shirts, socks, shorts, and don’t forget you will need a change of kit, and may I suggest you keep an eye on the cost of the washing. Dave Irons and I saved TMUFC £1000's of pounds many years ago on this one. Have you got a ground? What about the goal nets, who is going to put them up, wait, who is going to take them down, whoops forgot about that one. Corner flags, have you got them at the right height and colours.
All this and you haven't even got a player yet. All this is for a Sunday morning team, a senior team (like TMUFC) and you can multiply all this dozens of times, and then add the health & safety, and don’t forget all the bits and pieces many of you never see or ever hear about that goes on behind the scenes. I could go on, but you get my drift.
Some fool a few weeks ago was going on about people (the directors) lording it about walking around in their suits, is he for reel? I believe TMUFC and many clubs will not let the members of the committee, of both teams in the ''lounge/directors bar, or whatever you want to call it without a jacket or a tie? Now you don’t have to agree with this but if that is the rule, then abide by the rules. If you don’t like the rules, try and change them.
Myleftfoot states there are many factions within the club, and he is totally right, but whose fault is that? Well gentlemen and you might like what I am going to say next, it’s ALL your fault, everyone of you who are not members of the Members Club are to blame. EVERYONE of us should be members of this club, you don’t have to like the people who (presently) run it but they should have ALL of your support. The old saying of ''divide and conquer'' comes to mind.
I don’t know how many members the ''Members Club'' have, but let’s say 70, what if we could double or even treble that figure, what would you have? Well for a start you would have a ''Members Club'' with a significant voice, one that would have a greater say in what goes on within the confines of the ''football club'' and probably a bigger say in the direction in what way we want ''the facility'' to go.
So why don’t YOU join of the Members Club, put YOURSELF forward to go on the board, go to the meetings, have your say, put your thought's forward, listen to what is ACTUALLY happening at the club, the good and the bad, do something significant towards the club. Argue your point, vote for what you want, accept the majority vote.
As I have said you don’t have to like them, but the ''Members Club'' is the only way forward, if you don’t like the way it is run at the moment, JOIN IT and CHANGE IT. The decision is yours? So do you have what it takes to HELP the club, can YOU do something to make the club bigger and stronger. The ‘’Members Club’’ need new and younger members, are YOU the person to bring everyone together and take the club forward or like so many, OR you can log into this forum everyday have your moan, get it off your chest and know that it will not make one bit of difference to the outcome of the club in the long run.
Do something POSITIVE, JOIN the ‘’Members Club’’ and have your say in how you want YOUR club run,
