Hi all,
I am new to the forum but not new to the club and I have been assessing the situation over the past year or so but kept my opinions to myself. If you take a backward step and look into the fishbowl you will get a lot more clarity and understanding of what a mess the club is in at this point in time. I have seen members of staff come and go at a rapid rate and started to ask myself a few questions, the first being why? To my knowledge every person on the football side of the club has been sacked but gone onto bigger and better things, why? Our once well respected football club is now nothing more than a laughing stock within the local football community, why? Our reputation with players, coaches, managers and even physiotherapist’s is nothing more than laughable, why? Our youth set up is an absolute farce with young children not having the correct kits, medical cover, medical equipment or qualified coaches, why? I think we all know the answers to my questions before I state what I feel are the problems don’t we? What consistency has the club had throughout these ghastly times? The answer is simply the two people that have been entrusted with our once well respected club. You will have no idea how bitterly disappointed I am to see all and sundry squabble over what seems to be such insignificant detail when the two at the top are rubbing their hands together and laughing as we are all falling into line like toy soldiers. We moan and snipe at every opportunity about the situation and ask all the wrong questions. Was Roberto Forzoni the correct person to take the job; who knows, with the correct support from the top, maybe? Adkins was given a list of managers capable and relevant to our league that had been vetted during the managerial interviews and discarded all of them preferring to give the job to Roberto Forzoni because he has an Italian surname. If this is the logic the club is being run with is it really a surprise that we are in the state we are?
From what I have seen over the past few years:
From top ten in the Ryman Premier to rock bottom of the Ryman south.
Departures:
Andy Chute – now at Crystal Palace (professional football).
Luke Sainsbury – now on an outreach project in Thailand coaching elite players.
Robert Santerbury, Jefferson Curtis, Alan Husband and around 9 other ex-Tooting coaches all at Carshalton Athletic (one league higher) -who have just won the National FA community club of the year.
Gideon Jackson – Hampton & Richmond (one league higher).
Mark Beard – Crawley Town (professional football).
Danny Lee – Millwall (professional football).
It is beginning to dawn on me that maybe this is all designed to fail and we are being so naive that we are allowing it to happen. Adkins has no respect for our club or us come to think of it. Bondy, I love the fact that you are so passionate about the club, as we all are, if we never cared about it we wouldn’t be on here in the first place voicing an opinion. It is clear to all that there are two or more companies set up to extract money from the academy to keep the rest of the facility afloat, including the first team. Our academy pays extortionate prices to play and train at the club, this is a fact as outside clubs and organisations pay a considerable amount less than our own academy to use our facility, how can this be? In my opinion this is how the money is transferred to support the glum empty shell that once was our club. A glum empty shell that seems to be run by children, every minion employed there is around the ages of 16-24, this is so they can be easily influenced and bullied by the hierarchy. It is clear that everyone worth their salt has discovered the wrong doings and questioned it, then subsequently shown the door. How long are we going to stand by and let this happen? How long will it be before we can boast to have one of the strongest sides in the Combine Counties division 1? Answer is, not long if we don’t act fast. Adkins has manipulated himself into a position where all the decisions are his and his alone. Voting rights are a mere formality for the members club as if a situation occurred where everyone voted against him, he has a clause that gives him more votes than anyone else. He has expressed on more than one occasion that he has little interest in football but has a passion for rugby and Watkins has made it no secret that she cannot stand football or cannot tolerate footballers or us the football fan. In closing I must stress that I for one am not scared of bullies and I am not scared to speak out against egotistical fools that think that they have everyone in their pocket. People will suffer for a while but then grow impatient, mark my words Mr Adkins an uprising is on the horizon and there will be nothing you can do about it. Everyone has a timespan and your time is coming to an end, we all know what happened to Nero don’t we? The revolution is upon us and it’s down to us to rewrite the clubs destiny!
